Ursache: 9 german subs allocated to falmouth for gunnery practice & experiments. 2 out of 8 delivered were deliberately sunk. the remaining 6, [see also wk nos 16343, 16345, 16346 & 17311], were swept onto rocks in castle drive during a winter gale in 1921. (cornish shipwrecks, vol 1, south coast). [see wk record no 16341 - ub 97].
